Obituary

Jo Ann Merrick-Johnson was born on May 13,1960 to Reola Merrick in Galveston, Texas.

Jo Ann was a proud graduate of Ball High School and Bryant & Stratton College. She joined the Army, and later married and to this union two beautiful daughters were born, LaTonya and Dellicia Johnson.

After leaving the military, she moved to Galveston, Texas with her two daughters. And from there, forever the dreamer, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and then Long Island, New York before finally settling down in Dallas, Texas and working for the Veterans Affairs Hospital.

In Dallas, she found a home and a church, The Potters House of Dallas, where she was actively involved with and participated in many activities and ministries such as the church choir and the dance ministry.

Jo Ann found love for Chinese films and television shows during the pandemic and watched them religiously all day.

Jo Ann also loved family and her friends and always found time to either call or text them. She always lived her life to the fullest.

She leaves behind two daughters, LaTonya Johnson and Dellicia Johnson; her uncle, Charles (Donna) Merrick; an aunt, Lucille Merrick; and a cousin, Janice Flowers. She also leaves many relatives, friends and co-workers that she loved dearly.
