Joe Herman Hayes was born on September 15, 1960 in Dallas, Texas to Albert & Geraldine Hayes. He was a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School and he continued his education at The University of Central Oklahoma. He was later drafted and played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

He accepted Christ at a very early age and was faithful and loyal to his wife, children, and extended family and friends. He loved leading anyone he could to Christ. He was an awesome husband, father, brother, friend, and uncle. He had a passion for coaching football and loving his family. He adored spending time with his grandchildren.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Albert & Geraldine Hayes; brother: David Hayes; sisters: Stella Hayes and Billie Hayes.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Kimberly Hayes; children: Derrick (Kuila), Jeffery (Bridgette), Quentin, Terrance (Amber), Adrion (Chrystal), Little Coleman (Amadeous), DeShun, Laura Hayes (Sara), Jonas, and Lacreshia Hayes Stewart (Chris); mother-in-law Emma Shaw; sisters: Jacqueline Hayes and Linda Hayes; brothers: Phillips Hayes, Larry Hayes and Tim Hayes; best friends: Sherri Gerald, and Lallie Henderson; twenty-eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, other relatives and friends.
