John Edgar Hannon was born on November 28, 1959 to Minnie Elmore Hannon and the late Willie C. Hill in Monroe, Louisiana.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Mary's Baptist Church and later became a member of Cherry Valley Church of Christ.
He graduated from Wassman High School in Monroe, Louisiana. He received his B.A. degree from Northeast Louisiana University in 1983 in Radio and T.V. broadcasting. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve where he served as 2
nd
Lieutenant. He was currently employed with Bank of America as Fraud Analyst. He was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Dallas Alumni Chapter. He participated in the Guide Right Program which assisted male youth in scholarships. He also assisted with Thanksgiving and Back to School Donation Drives in the community, he was very passionate about entrepreneurship and assisting others to reach their goals. He was the owner of O.W.U. (Operation Wake-Up) Books.
In November of 1988, he married the love of his life, Ella Mae Natt and they had one daughter, Ariel Smith Lee.
