Kathie Marie Stephens-Johnson was born August 31, 1957, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Settie Mae Stephens and Marvin Ray Wright. She grew up in the Birch Creek community with her grandparents, Jossie and Phil Stephens.

Kathie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was an active member of their choir.

On July 20, 1973, Kathie married the love of her life, James Edward Johnson.

She worked tirelessly for many years in Sulphur Springs at P & G Nursery and Yard by Yard "The Flower Lady"

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James E. Johnson, son James Johnson, Jr., sister Lue Cynthia Stephens, and many other relatives.

Her memories will be cherished by, her children: LaMarcus Stephens, April Johnson, Christina Johnson, Jamie Johnson (Teddy), and DeVonte Stephens (nephew); grandchildren: Jasmine Stephens, Trederrion Stephens, Christopher Johnson, and Kayson King; great-grandchildren: Yasmine Stephens, and Cailee Johnson; brothers: Gaylon Wright (Felicia), Joseph Wright, and Eric Wright; sister Hilda Ford (Leroy), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
