Obituary

Kenquisha Zequell Reed was born on March 5, 1993 to Dena Brownlee and Kenneth Smith in
Dallas, Texas.
Kenquisha received her formal education at Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas. "Qui"
as she was affectionately known was an amazing and active cheerleader until she graduated in
2011. In 2012, Kenquisha received her M.A. degree from Arlington Medical Institute.
June 2013, Kenquisha gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Naiomi Dotson. The following year,
June of 2014, she gave birth to her beautiful and youngest daughter, Neriah Dotson. Qui
embraced motherhood and loved being the best mother she could be to her girls of whom were
her greatest accomplishments. Her favorite pass time was spending quality time with her
beautiful girls; she dedicated her life to making them happy.
Most people search a lifetime for true love; however, Qui was able to find love twice in one
lifetime... once with her daughters' father Justin Nickelberry of whom helped her create two
beautiful daughters. Her light was too bright to be dimmed and with overcoming trials and
tribulations, she was blessed with her forever partner Tiawna Reed, who she passionately and
unapologetically loved.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Qui. She loved hanging out and spending
time with family and friends and equally enjoyed her time at home, finding pleasure in cooking
and enjoying food.
Qui is preceded in death by Justin Nickelberry; her grandfather Nepoleon Watts; two great
grandmothers Joe Ann Headspeth and Beulah Hoskins; great grandfather M.H. Hoskins;
grandmother Willie Jean Brownlee; uncles Herman Hoskins and Houston Littles; and cousins
Charles Littles, James Lee Rattler, Vernon Brownlee, Willie Harris and Roderick Brownlee.
Qui leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted wife Tiawna Reed (Arlington, Texas);
beautiful daughters Naiomi Dotson and Neriah Dotson (Arlington, Texas); mother Dena
Brownlee and father Kenneth Smith Sr. (both of Dallas, Texas); three brothers David Turner,
Kenneth Smith Jr, and Marquis Simms (all from Dallas, Texas); two sisters Kendrica Smith
and Ken'Asia Smith (both of Dallas, Texas); grandmother Patricia Brownlee (Dallas, Texas);
and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Qui was a light to all who had a privilege of knowing and loving her. She will be greatly
missed but her spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
