Obituary

Mr. Kirk Stephens was born on February 28, 1961 in Dallas, TX to Pastor Vernell Stephens Sr. and Missionary Lillie M. Stephens.  Kirk was educated and attended school in the Dallas Independent School District.  He worked for Dean Foods (formerly known as Schepps Dairy) for 30 years until his health failed him.  Kirk was affectionately known as "The Blue Dawg & Big Daddy Blue".  During his illness, Kirk made the best decision of his life which was to accept Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.  His hobbies included fishing, and working with cars and he had a heart as big as Texas and helped many people over the years.
Although Kirk had no biological children of his own, he loved children and made sure that his nieces, nephews and godchildren were provided for at Christmas and other special occasions.  He had a special niece and great niece whom he loved as daughters (Ricci & her daughter Lilyana) who both loved and cared for him unselfishly until the end.  He often made comments about how he took care of Ricci when she was a child, and now she was taking care of him.
Kirk was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Rochelle & Mahalia Stephens, his Maternal Grandmother Mrs. Annie Harrison, and his Dad Pastor Vernell Stephens Sr.
He is survived by his mother Overseer Lillie Stephens, 4 Sisters Beverly Harrison, Charlotte Richardson, Janice Rudd, and Sandra Nichols, 3 Brothers Cecil Stephens, Vernell Stephens Jr., and Samuel Stephens all of Dallas, Texas, 2 God Sisters First Lady Janice Shedd and Sis. Beatrice Smith, and 1 God Brother Minister Johnny Smith Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
