To everything, there is a season…
Kris Wyvette Turner was the second of three children, born to Roger D. Turner and Rossie Jean Fraley on August 9, 1965, in Grand Prairie, Texas where she grew up in the Dalworth Community. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie under the leadership of the late Pastor W. F. Drake.
A time to educate…
Kris began her education by attending Dalworth Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, Lee Middle School, and was a 1983 graduate of Grand Prairie High School. Upon graduating from high school, she continued her educational endeavors by attending Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas.
A time to plant…
Beginning in her early adulthood, she was gainfully employed at TexStar Plastics in Grand Prairie and at AT&T in Dallas, Texas for 21 years until her death.
A time to celebrate…
Kris enjoyed cooking and eating. She was a lover of all sports and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan...win or lose, she loved 'dem Boys!
A time to love…
Kris was a surrogate mother and the best aunt ever…she saved many from well-deserved discipline by parents. She was their "S-hero." Kris helped in the nurturing, growth, and development of several youth and young adults both family and non-family members.
A time for worship and Kingdom building…
Kris was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Grand Prairie and later united with Sunset Baptist Church on January 26, 2003, under the pastorage of Dr. Matthew C. McGruder. she was an active member of the Young Matrons, Hospitality, Culinary, and Pastor's Care Ministries.
Time of departure…
Kris left this earth peacefully on the wings of angels to rest in the arms of the Master. She fought a good fight; she kept the faith until she heard God say…"well done my good and faithful servant," at the age of 54 on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 2:56 P.M., at Medical City Arlington. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger D. Turner and Rossie Jean Fraley; son, Keith Williams Jr; paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Left in the caring hands of God…
Kris is survived by loving and devoted siblings, Kerry Turner, Kelsye Turner (Troy) Jefferson, and Shannon Gomez (Lee) all of Grand Prairie, TX; niece, Andrea Jefferson (U.S. Navy) and nephew, Jermey Jefferson (Tulsa, OK); Ashton Stephenson and Tyler Stephenson; a special sister, Ashleigh Curry; best friend, Gina Crain; bonus nieces – Myracle (Candi) Lawson, Jessica King, and Shanell (Nelle) Bussey. She also leaves a rich legacy of life, laughter and love with aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family, Sunset Baptist Church family, and many dear friends.
