LaMark was born on September 28, 1990, to the late Rodney Palmer and Danielle Barnes. He was a native of Westwego, La but as a result of Hurricane Katrina, he relocated to Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas, and later went to attended Navarro Community College in Corsicana, Texas. He was employed with McCormick Seasoning in Irving, Texas.
LaMark accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at True Vine Baptist Church, Westwego, LA.
LaMark's first love for the game of basketball was at the age of 13 in Gretna, La. where he played AAU. LaMark sustained a reputable basketball (career) throughout his high school and collegiate years in which he received numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding athleticism. LaMark was a bright spirited individual who loved and enjoyed family, friends, and life. He was a devoted son, and it shined most when he was around children. As part of LaMark's leisure, he would be found fishing with family, spending time with friends, laughing, joking, or playing the Xbox. Once you have encountered LaMark before you left his presence you knew him to be an authentic individual. He was a friend to many people; his loving and compassionate spirit reached the multitudes. Despite the silent battles LaMark endured, he still maintained his infectious smile.
LaMark was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Palmer, grandparents, Barbara Jean Smith and Lawrence Rodgers, Sr., great aunt, Juanita Shade (Joseph), great-grandparents, Cleveland and Eunice Barnes, Jr., 3 great uncles, Cleveland Barnes Ill, Edward Barnes, and Joseph Barnes, godparents, Lloyd and Cordelia Sykes.
"Mark" as he was affectionately known leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Danielle Barnes (Theodis) of Grand Prairie, Tx, grandparents, John and Doris Davis of New Orleans, LA, many brothers and sisters, 2 aunts, Nikita Barnes, Melody Rodgers, of Westwego, La, 1 great aunt, Betty Moten (James) of Marrero, LA, 5 uncles, Willie Smith, Jr (Cierra), Randy Barnes and Chris Barnes, of Westwego, La, Ronald Lewis, Sr of Royse City, Tx, Ronnell Palmer ( Denise) of Avondale, La, Godmother, Kiona Boyd Lewis of Royse City, Tx, devoted cousin/sister, Jamilia Dowl, of Arlington, Tx, best friends, William Potter, Jr (Tre) of Arlington, Tx and Raphael Washington, IV of Dallas, Texas, Lauren McKinney of Grand Prairie, TX, Jasmine Johnson, Arlington, TX. Mentors, Raphael III and Patricia Washington, of Oak Leaf, Tx. Mark is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who loved him.
