Obituary

Jesus said, "Come to me all you that are weary and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

LaMonica Connell Baker was born on January 28, 1970, in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Cornelius Baker and Shirley O'Neal Baker.

LaMonica accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. She loved to sing and as a young girl, she sang with the South Dallas Youth Choir. She was a devout believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. She later joined Mt. Zion Deliverance Church of Faith.

LaMonica "Monie" as she was affectionately known was a graduate of the Wilmer Hutchins Class of 1988. While attending Wilmer Hutchins she was a member of the ROTC Color Guard.

LaMonica met and married Terrance Williams in 1989 and they began their family. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife and mother. She was quiet in nature and loved to joke around with her family, dance and read. She was caring, kindhearted, selfless and helpful. Those who knew her will surely miss her deeply and forever cherish those memories of her sweet smile and kindness.

LaMonica received her Medical Assistance Certification and worked at Baylor Hospital for over sixteen years until her health began to fail.

LaMonica entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2024. She is preceded in death by her loving father, Cornelius and a sister, Rebecca M. Dorsey brown.

LaMonica leaves to cherish lasting memories: her husband, Terrance; daughters, Whitley and Domonique; son, Solomon all of Dallas, TX; loving mother, Shirley Baker (Dallas, TX); brothers, Rodey (Dallas, TX) and Anthony (Monroe, LA); sister, Cornelia Lynn (Dallas, TX); grandmother, Marie Franklin (Grand Prairie, TX); mother in law, Crozetta (Van Zandt, TX) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, wonderful friends and loved ones.

LaMonica will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
