Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lamont was a devoted advocate for his community. As a member of the Church of the Redeemed, he served as the president of M3. He offered guidance, support, and spiritual nourishment to all who crossed his path. His commitment to service extended beyond the church, as he was in the FOI of the Nation of Islam and participated in events like the Million Man March, standing in solidarity with those fighting for justice and equality.
Lamont's thirst for knowledge could not be satisfied, reflected in his passion for researching, educating, and embracing the diversity of languages and cultures.
