LaShonda Denice Smith Brokenberry was born January 22, 1995 to the parentage of Cheirl Smith and Ronald Brokenberry.

LaShonda attended Dallas Independent School where she graduated from Skyline High School Class of 2014. After graduating, LaShonda attended Eastfield College where she obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in the field of study in Criminal Justice in 2019. She also graduated from the University of North Texas - Dallas in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science Criminal Justice Degree.

LaShonda was the life of the party and was loved by everybody she came in contact with.

LaShonda was a member of Griggs Chapel Baptist Church where she confessed her faith at an early age.

LaShonda is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Brokenberry; brother, Montez Smith; grandfathers, Luther Brokenberry, Johnny Fair and Lugene Whaley; great grandmother, Bobbie Crooms; and uncle, Brian Brokenberry.
