Laura Jewel Sutton, age 85, of Mesquite, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 2, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1941, in Athens, Texas, to the late Clyde Sutton and Janie B. Cumby.
Laura was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister, faithful Christian, and dedicated member of Great Mt. Calvary Church. She was known for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith, and willingness to encourage and mentor others. Her life reflected love, kindness, and service, and her legacy will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved children: Sarah Sutton, Laura "Niecy" Barnaby, James Sutton, and Tenia "Tina Sutton" McIntosh.
She was the proud grandmother of Shaqualia Jackson, Carla Mitchell, Tenia Sutton, and six additional grandchildren. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Tabian Sutton, Davion Sutton, Giovanni Lopez, and Lauren Houston, along with other beloved great-grandchildren.
