The Man Behind the Smile: Elder Lee Bertran Hill

Lee Bertran Hill had a magnetic smile and a story for everyone he met. He was born on January 26, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Jeff Hill and Leonora Jones. His sunset came on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the age of 79.

Lee grew up in Dallas and graduated from Hamilton Park High School in 1965.

In 1976, he married Teresa, and they shared 37 years of marriage.

For more than 30 years, Lee drove a truck for Collins Concrete. He showed up and did the work, and his children learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and service by watching him.

His faith was the center of his life. A friend to all, Lee found joy in helping people and shared the love of Jesus through community service and his personal ministries at Dallas Fellowship SDA Church, where he was a founding member and Elder. He loved gospel music, and “Before the Throne” by Shekinah Glory was one of his favorite songs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Hill; his parents; and his siblings, Della Mae Durham, Pritchard Hill, Joe Hill, and JD Hill.

He is survived by his four children, David (Audette), Rachel, Emily, and Marisela (Masud); his grandchildren, Austin, Catherine, Hannah, and Malachi; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Though his earthly journey has ended, the love, faith, and memories he shared will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him. We will miss him every day, and we hold fast to our hope in Jesus that we will one day see him again.
