Lester Charles
Havis
March 4, 1950 – March 19, 2019
Lester Charles Havis, affectionately known as "Charlie Boy" was born on March 4, 1950, to the late Lester Havis and Fleta Higgins Havis in McKinney, Texas. He received his formal education from the Plano Independent School District.
After he graduated, Lester attended Henderson County Junior College for one year. He later joined the U.S. Marine Corp and fought in the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the U.S. after the war, Lester enrolled in El Centro College where he received his degree in X-Ray Technology. He went on to work for the VA Hospital until his health began to decline.
On February 15, 2011, Lester married the love of his life, Darlene Hammond.
Lester went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2019. Along with his parent, he will be greeted at the Gates of Heaven by his niece Oteka Voss.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Darlene; one daughter: Shanequa Lawson of Duncanville, Texas; one son: Lester B. K. Havis of Dallas, Texas; two stepsons: Chris Welsh and Quincy Hammond of Sachse, Texas; five grandchildren: Ariah, Cailah, Chiccoria, Denali and Lori; two brothers: Richard Havis of Plano, Texas and Kevin Havis (Cassandra) of Corinth, Texas; two sisters: Pamela Redic (Matthew) and Felicia Barnes both of Plano, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
