Obituary

Linda Kay Taylor-Barner was born July 3, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas to Onerld D. Taylor and Mary Ella Taylor. She transitioned from this earthly life on March 6, 2026, at Medical City Arlington.

Linda grew up in Lubbock and later moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. She attended school in the Irving Independent School District and Grand Prairie Independent School District. She graduated from Dalworth High School.

Linda enjoyed babysitting, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a mother who possessed wisdom, guidance, and quiet strength. She embodied unconditional love and patience in their truest forms – graceful, dignified and endlessly compassionate. She cherished her family and found her greatest joy in the unconditional love she shared with them.

Linda was always full of life and light and met no strangers. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room she entered. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Onerld D. Taylor and Mary Ella Taylor; her sister, Shirley Wright; her niece, Lisa Wright and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Linda leaves the following to cherish her loving memory: her children, DeWayne Barner (Calissia), Kiba Barner and Derrick Taylor; eleven grandchildren, Ladarius Broadus, Taylor Smith, Za'Kayla Henderson, DeAysia Barner, Dezirae Barner, Tridarrius Madden, Khalil Pruitt, Dakota Barner, Daityn Barner, Denver Barner, and Kayla Brown; eight great grandchildren, Kaden, Kamren, True, Leigh, LaTroy, Jhontie, Ashley, and Aaliyah whom will carry her love and legacy forward.

She will forever be loved and remembered by her siblings, Vince Taylor (Traci), Dennis Taylor (Toshi Lynn), and Sandra Taylor (Arthur Wayne); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Though she's no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on. Linda Kay Taylor-Barner will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend who embodied unwavering strength, grace, humility and love. May she rest in eternal peace.
