IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Linda Joyce Brooks, of Grand Prairie, TX, was called home on Sunday, July 3, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1950, to the parents of Elijah and Lena Mae Walter Sr. in Corsicana, TX.
She truly had the heart of a servant. She worked for SW Bell/ATT from January 1970 until May 2001. Most recently she was a Supervising Crossing Guard for Grand Prairie ISD.
Her professional career alone shows her professionalism and dedication however she also loved her community of Dalworth. She was a member of the Dalworth Alumni Association. She was a board member of the City of Grand Prairie Juneteenth Committee and also served as the treasurer. She was a part of the City of Grand Prairie Weed and Seed Program and she was instrumental in helping numerous Senior Citizens get their homes repaired through the City of Grand Prairie Grant Program.
Her most rewarding work was for the Lord. She was a lifelong member of Lighthouse Deliverance Church of God in Christ. When others couldn't afford to purchase choir robes she would donate and help them. She loved to sew and was a member of the Sewing Circle. They made uniforms for other church groups such as the Usher Board, former Drill Team as well as Baptismal Robes. She also joined with her sister Minnie Faye Houston to clean the church and make sure it was presentable for Sunday morning services. When COVID-19 closed the church doors across the world, she took the lead with Zoom calls making sure members had access to the Word of God from home.
Later in life, Linda married Toney Brooks on February 20, 2010, a father of 4 children. They recently celebrated 12 years of marriage. He was faithful to her until her demise.
