A Glimpse at the Life of Little Willie Jones
It is said that when life begins it is an open book with many blank pages. Little
Willie Jones (Willie) affectionately known as Tang began to fill those pages
May 1, 1951 in Rusk County to the parentage of Rodger Womack and Armelia
Jones. Willie moved to Garland, Texas as a teenager and began attending
Garland High School, where he graduated in 1970. He then served in the U.S.
Army for eight years.
On May 8, 1971, he united in holy matrimony to Dorothy Lynn Crow. He was
employed by Micro Forms, Inc. in Garland, Texas for many years before
obtaining his CDL License and driving for Trinity Waste. Willie made the
decision to give his life to Christ while attending True Way Church in Dallas,
Texas under the leadership of the late Bishop Fredrick Gant, Sr. On February
15, 2023, he wrote his final chapter and went to make his home with our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rodger Womack and Armelia Jones, his
step father Willie B. Scott (Daddy Willie), his siblings: John Lee, Thomas
Henry, Randy Joe (Donna), Sandy Joe (Brenda), Josephine, Ruthie Mae and
Alyce Pearl; sister in law Verlean Crow.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of fifty-two years Dorothy;
his sons Patrick (Lisa), Sherdon (Tajuanna), Karon and Eric; his grandchildren
Constance (C.C.), Jamecia (MeMe), Montray, Sherdon Jr. (DJ), Mason, Willie
Karon Jamal (K.J.), Nadia, Caden, Erica and Jayln; two brothers E.T. Jones and
Rodger Womack (Trisha); sister Gertrude; sister in laws Joann Buckley, Janie
Hill, Alma Peoples, Rosie Henderson (M.T.), Virgetta Vaughn (R.P.) and a
host of nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
