Obituary

On Sunday, August 8, 1954, Lester and Vera Watts-Caraway
were blessed with a bundle of joy, a son, whom they named
Lockett Caraway. Lockett brought so much joy and happiness
to his parents.
Lockett, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, attended school in his
hometown and graduated from North Grand Prairie High
School.
In February of 1982, Lockett repeated two powerful words to
Frances Harris when he said, "I DO". Frances was indeed the
love of his life and he kept his vows and commitments to her.
Lockett and Frances enjoyed forty years of wedded bliss.
Lockett was the proud father of Tanaka Shirley and Santanna
Bynaum. He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with
his children and grandchildren. He would send text messages to
his children, grandchildren and niece daily to start the day and
to tell them how much he loved them.
Lockett worked in the natural gas industry for sixteen years and
retired after working for Doskocil MFG for twenty years. He
was an avid Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Lockett departed this life on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at
6:07p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and
Vera Caraway; his brothers, Charles Gene Caraway, Gregory
McBain Caraway, L.A. Caraway, Lester Ray Caraway, Vester
Lee Caraway, and L.V. Caraway; his sisters, Joecile Lewis,
Doris Goodwyn, Gwen Dell Williams and Patricia Ann Hines.
Lockett leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Frances

Caraway; his daughter, Tanaka Shirley; his son, Santanna By-
naum; his granddaughters Aubrei Scott, Alexus Bynaum and

Santasja Bynaum; his brothers, Lonnie Caraway and Robert

Caraway; his sister, Jean Eaden; a special niece, Venita Cara-
way; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins who shall

always cherish his memories.
