Mrs.  Loretta  Gene  Chism was born to the late Willie  D. Chism and Imogene V. (Beard)  Chism on December 18, 1970, in Mount  Pleasant, Texas. She passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 1:30 pm. Loretta was preceded in death by both parents; stepfather, Herman Ray Edwards; two sisters, Ann Estelle Jones, and Queen Hester Chism; four brothers, Jimmy Wayne Chism, Sr., Willie "Bob" Chism, Willie B. Chism,  Johnny Ray Chism, Sr. Her membership resided at Saint Phillips Missionary Baptist Church where she was faithful until her illness.

In 1989, Loretta graduated from Daingerfield High School in Daingerfield, Texas. After graduating, Loretta relocated to the Dallas area where she spent 19 years employed at Dallas County Schools. Loretta did a variety of jobs ranging from driving, dispatching, training, recruiting, running the office, overseeing the work of Master Trainers, presenting in training sessions, certifying bus drivers and administering the test for CDL licensure. In 2013, she was on a passionate pursuit for her bachelor's degree from Phoenix University in Business Management. In 2018, Loretta transferred to Dallas Independent School District where she carried out the duties and responsibilities of a Safety Specialist.

Loretta leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted spouse for over 22 years, Sharron Gay-Chism; son, Robert Lee Chism (Kandice) of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter Rosalind Renee Chism of Dallas, Texas; two sisters; Arma Gene Manning (Randy) of Dallas, Texas, and Kathy Lee Mitchell (Robert) of Indianapolis, Indiana; four brothers; William Paul Chism Qanet) of Lone Star, Texas, Bobby Joe Chism and Doyle Wayne Chism both of Dallas, Texas, and Donny Scott Chism (Sheila) of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Loretta had a wonderful combination of warmth, kindness, laughter, and love for her five grandchildren: Xavier, Karmyn, Kamilla, Katalyna, and Karina.

She also had special words of encouragement and guidance for all of her nieces and nephews: Jimmy 'JJ", Brandon, Jada, Pam, Kimila, Churita, Miranda, Lanita, Kajun, Courtney, Shandalyn, Christopher, Roderick, Johnny Ray, Tammie,  Kendrick, Adrian, Jessica, Vonda, Joseph, Johnny, Amanda, Jasper, Devonte, Hailey, Adolphus, Motiquida, Gregory, Terrance, Shanteria and Shuntavian. Loretta was affectionate about her 20 great-nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and other relatives
