Loretta Ann Cleaver was born to the parentage of Lemmye C. Sewell and Norma Cleaver on November 21, 1970, in Rockwall, Texas.
Loretta received her formal education in the Rockwall Independent School District in Rockwall, TX. She graduated from Garland High School in 1989.
Loretta accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Garland, TX where she was a faithful member for several years.
Loretta was the heart of her home and family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to shop and take family trips. She was kindhearted, loving and compassionate and was cherished by her family and friends.
On September 18, 2025, Loretta peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home with her children and other loved ones by her side. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories shared.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Lemmye C. Sewell and Norma Jean Cleaver; a son, Brandon Cleeaver; a brother, Alex Cleaver, a
sister, Carla Williams; her grandparents; uncle, Bennie Mims; and best friends, Precious and Ruby.
Loretta leaves the following to honor her legacy and cherish her loving memory: her oldest son, Gary Cleaver and his wife Shabralla Brown; her only daughter, Destiny Clay; her youngest son, Prince Cleaver; granddaughter, London Fincher; grandsons, Brandon Cleaver, Masiyah Cleaver, Damarion Cleaver and Daushaun Cleaver; her best friend, comforter, and grandfather to her grandchildren, Kippy Clay; her oldest sibling, Melissa
Simmons; youngest brother, Lemmye C. Matthews; her eldest aunt, Emma Cleaver; closest friends Charonia Robinson and Theresa Bearden; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and
dear friends all of whom she cherished deeply.
Loretta Ann Cleaver was loved by many. She will be deeply missed, and memories of her forever cherished.
