Margie Ree Roberts Mackey was born August 12, 1926, in Mount Enterprise, Texas to the parentage of Roland and Rosie Roberts.

Margie accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age.  She united with the Body of Christ Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M.L. Wicks.  She later became a faithful member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church until the death of her pastor, Rev. J.W. Mosely.  She later united with Greater Mount Rose PB Church.

She was united in holy matrimony to Ransom Mackey and to this union six children were born.  As a Proverbs 21 woman and a faithful servant, Margie loved and served her family and all with unconditional love.  She was lovingly known as Momma, Big Momma, Ma'dea, and Top.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roland and Rosie Roberts; husband Ransom Mackey; three brothers Cornelius Roberts, Charlie Roberts, and Cleo Roberts; 4 sisters Novella Roberts, Idella Roberts, Juanita Graves, and Eva Roberts; two bonus daughters Gwen Armstrong and Barbara Malett; one bonus son James Mackey; one granddaughter Paulette Mackey and one grandson Carlos Mackey.

Margie leaves to cherish her memories and carry out her legacy, her children: Tommy Lee (Gladys), Peggy, Ronnie (Tajuana), Jewel (Doyle), Cedrick (Marilyn), Wanda; living siblings: brothers Ira Roberts (Ora B), Robert Roberts and sister Dorothy Johnson all of Dallas, Texas.  She was blessed to have 12 grandchildren, 1 fur-grandchild, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Margie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
