IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marvin L.
Storey, Sr.
April 10, 1957 – November 29, 2025
Marvin Louis Storey, Sr., 68, of New York, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 10, 1957, in Brooklyn, NY, Marvin built a strong and beautiful life with his devoted wife of 37 years, Sandra Storey, whose partnership, love, and dedication shaped the foundation of their family.
Marvin was the beloved son of Louis German Sr. and Dorothy Storey, and the cherished sibling of 10 brothers and sisters: Guy Storey (preceded him in death), Carol Storey, Larry Storey (preceded him in death), Cheryl Storey, Kevin Storey, Valerie Storey, Dwayne Storey, Belinda Storey, Lonnie Storey, and Lorraine Storey (preceded him in death).
Marvin is survived by his loving children: Marvin Storey Jr. and his wife Anika Storey, and their children Amiya, Amari, and Avery Storey. Shareen Frater and her husband Lindel Frater, and their children Eric Anderson Jr., Justin Frater, and Zoe Frater. Tianika Cole and her husband Lawrence Cole Jr., and their children Lauryn Cole and Bryanna Cole.
Marvin also had a deep passion for coaching. He coached youth basketball and baseball for many years, forming lifelong relationships with the players he mentored. He influenced numerous young people through his leadership, encouragement, and belief in their potential.
Marvin dedicated more than 18 years as a cement driver, known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in his craft. He later advanced to become a respected Ready Mix Instructor, where he led the school training program with the goal of taking men and women with no driving experience, teaching them to pass both written and behind-the-wheel driving exams, and then mentoring these new drivers to become safe and skilled mixer truck operators. Teaching others became one of the roles he valued most, passing down his knowledge and setting others up for success.
To those who knew him, Marvin was both protector and soft place to land. His presence was bold, his voice unmistakable, and his love unconditional. He was a man who believed in showing up—through advice, through laughter, and through the everyday moments that bind families together. A devoted Knicks and Jets fan, he rooted for his teams with passion—always with a big bark, but a gentle and generous heart.
Marvin will be remembered for his humor, his strength, and the fierce love he carried for his family. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, and all who were touched by his kindness and loyalty.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
