August 5, 1944 – April 11, 2020
Mr. Marvin D. Woods was born on August 5, 1944, in Longview, Texas, to the parents of Agustus Woods, Sr. and Delma Devine Jackson. He received his formal education from the Longview Public System and graduated from Mary C. Womack High School in 1963.
Marvin accepted Christ at an early age. He worked for Collins Radio Rockwell International and Alcatel Position as a Truck Driver; he retired in 1999. In 2005 he started working for Delta Airlines and later retired in 2017.
Marvin met and later married the love of his life, Mrs. Paula M. Wilson-Woods, and they remained united in holy matrimony for 10 years. He loved to fish, listen to Blues music, surfing the World Wide Web, and Bar B Queuing on the grill. He will be remembered for being a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Agustus Woods Sr. and Delma D. Jackson; four brothers: Agustus Woods, Jr., Russell Woods, Grady Woods, and Roy Walton.
Mr. Marvin leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Paula M. Wilson-Woods of Garland, TX., two daughters: LaShunda Langston (Floyd) of Flower Mound, TX., and Shutonya Thrower (Tyrone) of Lancaster, TX.; five grandchildren; one granddaughter; three brothers: Chester, Cecil, and Curtis Walton all of Longview, TX. and a host of other relatives and friends.
