Mary Ann Holmes was born on January 23, 1954, to the parentage of Donnell and Tom Davis. She was one of 12 children.

Mary was raised in El Dorado, Arkansas. She graduated from Village High School in Village, Arkansas. She later moved to Dallas, Texas.

In 1969, Mary was united in holy matrimony with James Holmes and they lived in marital bliss for 50 beautiful years.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Donell, and Tom Davis; two brothers: Lewis Davis and Hosie Davis; one sister: Shirley Davis; one daughter: Staffie Holmes and grandson Devion Dewayne Harris.

Mary leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her husband of 50 years, James Holmes of Dallas, TX.; three daughters: Carolyn Frazier of Grand Prairie, TX., Teresa Holmes of Dallas, TX., and Shawn Harris of Grand Prairie, TX.; two sons: Rodrick Davis (Shenequi) and Wayne Harris both of Grand Prairie, TX.; two brothers: Jesse Davis of Flint, MI., and Johnny Davis of Magnolia, AR.; three sisters: Maggie Carlisle of Marshall, TX., Ora Gray of El Dorado, AR., and Bobby Phillips of Dallas, TX.; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren and many loveable moments, cherished memories and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, faithful friends, her special son Clayton Drayton of Ruston, LA., and a multitude of others who loved her dearly.
