IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Twine
July 7, 1949 – September 19, 2023

A GLIMPSE AT THE LIFE OF
Mary Ann Twine
Mary Ann Brown Twine entered this earth on July 7, 1949, in
Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Oscar and Ruby Brown. Her
father and mother preceded her in death. Mary was the sixth of
seven children born to this union. Five of her siblings preceded
her in death; her brothers, Harvey Brown, Leonard Brown and
Arthur Brown; her sisters Lela McKenzie and Rose Edgar.
In 1960, Mary's family relocated to Grand Prairie, Texas where
she attended Sam Houston High School. In 1968, she married
Robert C. Twine and to this union one child, Yolanda Marie
Twine, was born. Mary remained in the Arlington/Grand Prairie
area and worked as a care giver in different assisted living
facilities until she retired.
One of Mary's greatest strengths and passions was being a
"Granny". Although she only had one grandchild and two great
grandchildren, many, many others knew and loved her as their
"Granny".
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, Mary Ann Brown Twine
completed her journey here on earth and took flight tour of her
heavenly home. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and
auntie, she leaves to cherish her memories her only child Yolanda
Thompson (Patrick) of Arlington, Texas; granddaughter Breshon
Edwards, Arlington, Texas; sister Willie Faye Brown of St. Louis,
Missouri; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews
and friends.
