Mattie Beatrice Chisom/Hamilton was born on July 23, 1913, to the parentage of Billie and Jannie Chisom in Marion County, Texas. She was the fifth of eleven children all of whom preceded her in death. She received her education in Marion County School District. Earlier in life, she was a member of Grimfield Methodist Church, Center Point Baptist Church in 1969, and last but not least Sunset Baptist Church where she united on January 4, 1987. She was a faithful member and a dedicated student at Sunday School until her health began to fail her just a few months ago and then God called her home to be with Him February 14, 2020. Sis. Hamilton worked many years as a housemaid in Lone Star, Texas and later in 1969 a housewife for ten years.
In July 1969 she married Deacon Albert Hamilton of Pittsburg, Texas (Center Point Community). He preceded her in death in 1979.
Sis. Hamilton leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Josephine Smith and one grandson, Nicholas Smith; one granddaughter, Donielle Smith, one great-granddaughter, Tramieka Smith and one great-great-grandson, Tra'Marion Smith. Six nephews: W. S. Chisom, Willie Lee Chisom (Bonnie) (both of Lone Star, Texas), Jimmy Brooks (Gail) (Sugarland), Garfield Brooks (Katie) (Houston), Carlton Wayne Chisom and Charles Chisom (both of Jefferson); three nieces: Essie Chisom and Joyce Connor (both of Lone Star) and Sue Chisom (Ore City). She also leaves to cherish her memories four wonderful stepsons – Hilton Hamilton (San Antonio), Bernard Hamilton (Helen) (Fort Worth), Kenneth Hamilton (Pittsburg), Shelton Hamilton (Paula) (Fort Worth) and one stepdaughter, Jessye Moore (Kansas City) and a host of grandchildren, and grand nieces and nephews; and her Sister and Brothers in Christ at the Sunset Baptist Church
