IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Ray
Liggins Sr.
December 7, 1957 – May 31, 2025
Michael (Mike) Ray Liggins, Sr was born December 7, 1957, in Idabel, Oklahoma and passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Mckinney,
Texas. He was the oldest of four children born to Matthew and Roberta (Lewis) Liggins.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in McKinney, Texas. Although he was not active in church during recent years, he continued to study his Bible in addition to completing many Bible Study Courses.
As a young boy he spent many hours in his grandfather's auto repair shop located in Idabel, Oklahoma and thus began his love of vintage cars. Once old enough to have his own vehicles, he started customizing them utilizing skills acquired from his grandfather.
Michael left high school before graduating and enlisted in the United States Army. There he obtained his GED and trained to be a Track Vehicle Mechanic while serving his term in Germany. He returned to McKinney upon discharge and married Deborah Timmons in 1980.
With his continued interest in auto repair and body work, he enrolled at Grayson College in 1983 and obtained a Certification for Auto Mechanic/Body Repair. Through the years he was a mechanic for many in the community until his health prevented him from continuing this path. Mike also loved putting together model cars, collecting watches and tennis shoes.
Mike, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth
was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
Awaiting Mike in eternal rest are his grandparents and father, Reverend Matthew Liggins.
He leaves behind a loving family including his mother, Roberta Lewis Liggins; children, Michael Liggins, Jr. and Michelle Liggins; and a
grandson, Caden Liggins. Michael also leaves to cherish his memories: his siblings, Robert Williams, Roshon Palmer (Patrick), Morey Liggins and Reavely Evette Liggins; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was loved, will be missed, but we find comfort in knowing he is now free from sickness and pain and we will one day see him again.
