Milton "Papa" Effal Shannon was born November 19, 1942, to the parentage of the late Sweet Eldridge Shannon and the late Willie B. Hankins. He was the baby out of 21 children, He was called home on January 5, 2021.
Milton was the most loving, caring, quiet tempered, and peaceful husband, dad, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved the William Brothers and loved playing the drums. Milton was a man of few words. He loved everyone and often said, "God loves you and so do I and there ain't a thing you can do about it".
He joined church at an early age by the name of Holy Temple COGIC in Plano, Texas, and married his wife Jo Ann Dennis Shannon. He later joined Greater Hope Holiness Church under the leadership of Coy C. Tarver where he remained faithful until his death. He worked and later retired from Texas Instruments.
He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Lafeyette Shannon and 18 brothers and sisters.
He leaves a blended family to cherish his memories, His wife Jo Ann Dennis Shannon of 47years, their 2 daughters, Margaret (Debryce)Allen, Rosie(Richard) Fortenberry, and a blended family of 4 sons, Joseph Derrick, Alvin Shannon, Brian Shannon, and Meredith Drane, 4 daughters, Betty Davis, Melinda Kumi, Casandra(James)Mack, and Colethia(Robert)Earvin, 2 sisters, Willie Mae Lee, Edna Mitchell and a host of Spiritual Children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends
