Obituary

Macy D. Abrams was born January 25, 1930, to the parentage of Freddie and Susie Duncan in Montalba, TX.

She received her education in the Palestine Independent School District.  During that time, she enjoyed playing basketball and sewing.  While traveling to Dallas, TX Macy met the man of her dreams, Robert Abrams. They were married on September 4, 1950.

Macy accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Sunset Baptist Church until the Lord called her to come. She served as Secretary of the Church, the mission board, the beautification committee, the culinary ministry and was willing to work in any capacity in which she was needed. In 2015 the kitchen was named, The Macy Abram and Iva Toney Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Freddie and Susie Duncan. Her Son Dwight Abrams and her four brothers: RT Duncan, Wilmer Duncan, Arizona Duncan, Bonnie Duncan.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Husband Robert L. Abrams of Grand Prairie, TX. Children, Rachel Jean Abrams and Robin Abrams-Chukwura of Grand Prairie, TX. Grandchildren: De'Anna Abrams (Rodney) Of Arlington, TX, Robert Ernest Abrams of Grand Prairie, TX. 3 great-grandchildren Dejaha Abrams of Grand Prairie, TX, Kalis Macy Abrams of Princeton, TX. Damaurious Harper of Princeton, TX.  Two brothers: Freddie Duncan Jr. (Julia) of Lancaster, TX Floyd Duncan of Montalba, TX. Five sisters Ruthie Blackshear and Essies Burns of Dallas TX., Iva Lee "TCake" Toney of Grand Prairie, TX, Hattie Sloan of Fort Worth, TX and Verty Jackson (Johnny) of Montalba, TX. Brother~n~law Jerlee Abrams, of Palestine, TX, 2 sister~n~laws Vernon Owens of Gary, IN and Wyvonne Duncan of Fort Worth, TX. Special Son, Dr. Matthew C. McGruder of Grand Prairie, TX. Special Grandson Daryl Roberts of Arlington, TX. Personal caregiver Sabrina Ward of Grand Prairie, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
