Myrtle Dean "Mert" Harrison Young was born on May 14, 1938 to the parentage of Wilbert, Sr. and Alma Harrison. She was the youngest of seven children. Myrtle was raised in Midway, Texas. She attended A.V. Lee high School; she was awarded a full basketball scholarship to Prairie View A&M University.
She accepted Christ at early age at Antioch Church of Christ in Midway, TX.
In 1962 she united in holy matrimony with Aaron Young, Sr. and was married for seventeen years until his sudden death on December 25, 1979.
Myrtle was employed by Union Envelope for 20 plus years and later ended her working career at Medical Technology after 22 years.
Preceding her in death her father, Wilbert Harrison, Sr.: mother, Alma Brown Harrison: husband, Aaron Young, Sr.: three sisters Nannie Mae Harrison Goffney, Iola Harrison James, Alice Harrison: One brother, Wilbert Harrison, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Denise Harrison Kizzee (Victor), Pamela Young; two sons: Calvin Harrison (Tina), Aaron Young, Jr. all of Grand Prairie, TX.: seven granddaughters: Marketta Moffitt Nimo (Godwin), Arnitrice Harrison, Amber Moffitt, Brittney Moffitt , Ariel Pitre Young, Victoria Kizzee and Jasmine Kizzee: one grandson: Aaron Young III; five great granddaughters: Mariyah Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Gianna Nimo, Harrison Harmony Moss and Morgan Stewart; two great grandsons: Kwame Nimo and Xavier Stewart; one sister: Pearlie Harrison; one brother: Elbert Harrison (Vera) all of Dallas, TX.; two sister-in-law: Hallie Young Duncan, of Duncanville, TX. and Novella Young Martin (Harold) of Desoto, TX.; two aunts: Laura Mack of Waco, TX. and Erma B. Josie of Texas City, TX.
Myrtle also leaves behind many lovable moments, cherished memories and a host of nieces and nephews, loving cousins, faithful friends and a multitude of others.
