Oscar Henry Ellis Jr departed this life on April 29, 2019 at the glorious age of 80 in McKinney, Texas. Oscar was born November 13, 1938 in McKinney, Texas he was the first of four children of Oscar Henry Ellis Sr. and Louise Euell.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife and mother of his children Runnie Mae Ellis, two daughters Debra and Quinita Ellis, his sister Alma Pearson, one granddaughter Angela Howard and three grandsons Anthony Howard, Major Amir Thompson and Cecil Ellis Jr. He was deeply loved and cared for by his family.
Oscar accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during his lifetime. He was affiliated with the New Testament House of Prayer in Guernsey, AR under the leadership of the late Pastor Otha Hill Sr. Oscar returned to McKinney, TX and on January 7, 1998 he was united with his loving wife Nannetta of 20 years and became a member of First Baptist Church. Oscar (Paw Paw) Ellis was a loving family man; he loved! loved! his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Oscar was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a hard worker and a great provider. He worked many years as a welder and in his later years as a custodian at the Presbyterian Baptist Church, he retired in 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Nannetta Ellis of McKinney, TX; His sister Brenda Ellis Valentine and his brother Norman Wayne Ellis both of Dallas. Rose Ellis, Evelyn K. Ellis and Gerald Ellis of McKinney Texas and Peggy Ellis Johnson of Plano Texas; six sons: Cecil Eugene (Trina) of Hope AR; Thomas Joe of Dallas, TX; Rev. Oscar Henry III (Vickie) of Stephens, AR; Jonathan Paul (Adrianne) of Arlington TX; Kevin (Esther) of Lancaster, TX; Marcus Valdez of Columbus, OH four daughters: Terry Alexander (Larry) of Columbus, OH; Cecelia Willis (Mark) of Stephens, AR; Mandy Thornton (Steven) of Little Rock, AR; Lamontra Jackson (Keith) of Garland, TX; and two bonus children Rev. David Cavitt (Belinda) of Wichita Falls, TX. and Fred Cavitt (Jennifer) of Keller, TX, 52 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
