Mrs. Ouida Jane Thomas

Ouida Jane Thomas, age 75, best friend and wife to Mr. Earl
Thomas for thirty-four years, passed away on Thursday, August
24, 2023 at her assisted living with her husband Earl by her side.
Earl and Ouida were married on March 26, 1989. Ouida was
blessed with three beautiful children: one son Rodney Hickman
and two daughters Tonya Hickman and Heather Beauford.
Ouida started her career in the engineering field and worked at
DSC (Digital Switch Corporation) and Harris Engineering. She
then became employed with the Plano Independent School
District where she worked with her husband. She was a School
Bus Attendant for seventeen years and was known for her kind
heart and great sense of humor.
Ouida was a loyal friend and loved her family more than
anything. She enjoyed spending time with her children and
grandchildren when she wasn't working. She was a true
fashionista and enjoyed singing in the choir and being a member
of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
Ouida was preceded in death by her mother Elzie Grace Duty
Dixon; father Paul Dixon; brothers Jimmy Randolph, Samuel
Boyce Dixon Sr., Weldon Clark Dixon, Wynn Mitchell Dixon Sr.,
Wayne Morris Dixon, Sr.; and uncle Frank K. Duty.
Ouida leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Earl;
son Rodney Hickman; daughters Heather Beauford and Tonya
Hickman; grandchildren Rodney, Holland, Hannah, Chase,
Joshua, Haley, Ashley and Whitney; great grandchildren Elijah
and Jaxson; brother Ben Dixon (Vivian); sister Fredia Dixon and
a host of other family members and friends.
Ouida Jane Thomas will be greatly missed by all who knew and
loved her.
