Obituary

Pastor Dorothy Jean Rector known by all as, 'Mother', was born on November 10, 1948, in Grandview, Texas to William McDonald Hardy and Luella Francis. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Cleburne, Texas.

Mother Rector accepted Christ at an early age and was dedicated to her walk with Christ. She was the pastor of Christ Temple of Deliverance Holiness Church in Garland, Texas for 19 years. Pastor Rector helped establish several churches and worked with so many pastors and ministries in various cities and states. She was a true Woman of God and Mother in Zion to countless sons and daughters around the world.

Sis. Rector met and later married Charles Rector, Jr. and they were married for 33 years.

Pastor Rector was loved and cherished by so many Godchildren. She will truly be missed by the lives she touched, taught, and mentored. She was known by so many as Mother and loved it. Mother was so proud of her children. Her goddaughter, Sharmayne Ragsdale, was special to her. She acted as Mother's caregiver, confidant, and driver; she was her everything.

Rev. Rector received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and her Master's in Social Work. She was a phenomenal woman of God. She traveled the world preaching and teaching the Word of God.
