Peggie Jean Ward was born November 16,1948, to Bernice Ward and Cranza Ward in Waelder, Texas.
Peggie spent her early childhood in Waelder, TX. She attended grade school in Waelder and later went on to become a proud graduate of Carver High School in Garland, TX. After graduation, she entered the workforce. She was employed at Texas Instruments, Varo, Eastern Hills Country Club, and Lady Pearl. She transitioned into Home Health Care, where she found her true passion for helping and serving others.
Peggie was a faithful Christian who accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of St. Luke AME Church in the 1990s.
Peggie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be remembered as a kind and compassionate woman who lived a life full of faith, love, and service.
Peggie was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Medford Sr.; son, Billy Medford, Jr.; mother, Bernice Ward; father, Cranza Ward, Sr.; two brothers, Cranza Ward Jr. and Robert Larry Ward; and sister, Clonia Margret Ward-Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memory two grandchildren, Billy Medford III and Cantrell Needum; six siblings, Elmira Brown, Beulah DuHart, Rosemary Walker, Earlene Derry, Odessa Whitney, and Charles Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Peggie Jean Ward was a true light- full of joy and warmth; her energy and compassion touched everyone around her. She will be deeply missed.
