September 21, 1956 – June 14, 2020
Quinette Marie Maxie was born in Mountain Home, Idaho on the 21st night of September in 1956. She was a 1974 graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, TX. After high school, she married Eric Henderson Sr. and to that union, three children were born.
Quinette worked as a federal employee with the Civilian Personnel Office at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD for over twenty years. She received countless commendations and accolades during her career. In 2008, after years of dedicated service, Quinette was blessed with the opportunity to leave the workforce. She utilized her newfound free time to enjoy traveling to various locations with friends. She visited her children and grandchildren often as she was an avid believer in family bonding. Quinette's love and admiration for her children and grandchildren was unrivaled.
Quinette was affectionately named "Nanny" by her grandchildren and was known as "Ms. Q" to the community. She was always welcoming to all and her generosity knew no boundaries. Quinette had a magnetic personality that attracted people from all walks of life. Her spirit was radiant and captivating. She was never short of interesting stories of people that randomly conversed with her.
Quinette was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Dwin and Quintin Maxie Sr., and brother, Quintin Maxie Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, maternal grandmother: Bessie Roberts of Port Arthur, TX her sister: Quinelle Simmons (Rick) of Grand Prairie, TX; children: Erica Ware of Landover, MD, Eric Henderson Jr. (Chenise) of Eden Prairie, MN and Erin Henderson (Maleah) of Aberdeen, MD; Grandchildren: Ciara and Makayla Ware, Emari and Enaji Henderson and Lennox Henderson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, faithful friends and a multitude of acquaintances.
