IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph
Hayes
December 18, 1951 – January 31, 2020
On January 31, 2020, Our Heavenly Father called His beloved son, Ralph Hayes home to be with Him in Glory.
Ralph was born December 18, 1951, to the late Joseph T. Hayes and the late Ruth Ella Patterson
Ralph was employed with the electricity company for 38 years. Although the company names changed over the years from Dallas Power and Light, Lonestar Gas, Atmos to Oncor his dedicated service never did. Ralph received many accolades for service including the "Star Performance" Award before retiring in 2013.
Ralph's favorite pastime was fishing, and he would fish every day if he could.
Before Laura and Ralph were running the boys to their different activities or sporting events Ralph was pitching while Laura was playing first base on their co-ed softball teams. As the boys grew older attending their events became priority Terrance playing Basketball and Terrell playing Baseball. When Terrell added Football, you could find Ralph and Laura at every High School game that could make. When Terrell started playing football for the University of Arizona is when their love for traveling began. They attended as many games as they could in those 4 years. Laura would come up with an itinerary and present it to Ralph who was always a little hesitant but, as we all know, he could never really tell Laura no. This past August Ralph, Laura, Terrance, and Terrell took a family trip RVing to Atlanta, Georgia to back (Laura's Birthday Trip).
He professed his love for Christ at an early age. Ralph was a current member and faithful servant of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church where served as President of the Usher Board until his health began to fail.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph T. Hayes, Ruth Ella Thomas and (Big Daddy) Milton Thomas; brother and sisters: Robert Miles, Oleavia Steadiman and Thelma Miles;
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his faithful and devoted wife Laura Turner-Hayes; sons: Terrance, Terrell, Ralph, Jr., and Wendall; one sister: Delores Taylor; five brothers: David Thomas, Charles Hayes, Joseph T. Hayes, Jr., Richard L. Hayes, and Emmerson Hayes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
