Raymond was born on May 23, 1982, to Raymond Gray and Benita Gray (Williams) in Tulsa, OK. Raymond came to know Christ at an early age.

During childhood, Raymond played many sports. However, while attending Jenks High School, in Jenks, OK, Raymond discovered his true passion, running track.

Raymond moved to Plano, TX in 2012. His love for spending time with his son, Kai, strengthened their relationship, and he began developing Kai to run track. Kai had the same desire to run track as his father, and through his father's coaching Kai won many medals and became the AAU Cross Country champion in December 2016 for his age group.

Raymond's coaching of his son gave him the desire to develop other youth in track and field. Raymond's unconventional style of training helped his students achieve success on the track field as well as in life, by imparting life skills and spiritual values.

Raymond was a Cross Country Coach and Track Coach for The Winston School in Dallas, TX. He also served as Head Middle Distance Coach for "Team Quest" and Middle-Distance Coach for "Track Dynamite." God blessed Raymond to start his own Track Team "Texas Runners Elite," and through his passion, his students won many medals and accolades.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories: his son: Kai (Kai's mother, Essence Barnes); his mother: Benita Williams (Ron); four sisters: Mecole Gray, Raymonda Gray, Ashley Gray and Raynal Gray; one brother: Roman Gray; grandmother: Odell Neal; a special friend, Latosha Horn; our extended family: David and Jackie Stephens and their sons, Dakarai and Dulani. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
