Rickey Lane Stance was born to Leonard and Geraldine Stance on  January 11, 1971, in Dallas, Texas. He was the youngest of nine children and was surrounded by a large family.

Rickey received his education from elementary to high school within Dallas Independent School District. That is where he became best friends with Rodney Young and remain friends for life. He graduated high school from H. Grady Spruce High School class of 1989.

He was the devoted father of his two children. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with St. Paul Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas.

He was always an extremely hard worker and began working for the City of Dallas, he worked for them 10 years. Rickey met and fell in love with the love of his life, Catavia Ellis.

With their hearts full of love, Rickey & Catavia were united in holy matrimony in Dallas, Texas, on July 19, 2014. Rickey and Catavia regularly attended Greater New Birth Church of Plano. Rickey was very passionate about providing for his family and creating an opportunity for others. Together with his wife, they opened a successful soul food business "Tootie's Southern Kitchen," along with several other businesses.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Geraldine Stance, his brother Jerry Stance, and his nephew Tony Stance.

Rickey leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his wife, Catavia Stance, his daughter Rickelle Greer, son Rickey Stance Jr., great-niece/daughter Lawanda Stance, son Trevion Ellis, and daughter Jada Ellis. His siblings Amanda Stance, Debraoh Stance, Ray Stance, Keith Stance (Sabrina), Barnard Stance (Claudia), David Dismuke, Deloris Jones, Wanda Stance (Niece). His grandchildren Rickey Stance III, Armarion Stance, A'Mir Stance, Kyrie Stance, Dameko Wilson, I'yanna Greer. He also leaves nieces Tamekia Stance, Felicia Stance, Renee Stance, Cheryl Polk, two nephews Larry Stance,  Barnard A. Stance, and a host of relatives and friends.
