Robert Cory Barnes was born on May 12, 1972, in Grand Prairie, Texas to the parentage of James and Sandra Barnes. He received his formal education at South Grand Prairie High School graduating Class of 1991. At the age of 16, he began his career with Kroger where he
later retired after 35 years of service. Cory was very active in his community where he served over two decades as a mentor, and a basketball and football coach at the YMCA.

Cory attended The Power and Authority Tabernacle in Grand Prairie, Texas under the leader-
ship of Apostle Willie F. Hughes. Cory loved the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed talking to his mother about sports and keeping her updated on upcoming games as well as active players. Cory loved his family and was truly a people's person. No one was a stranger to him, and everyone loved Cory! He was one of a kind and always had a smile.

Cory passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy Lee and Emma Music, Robert and Evelyn Barnes; aunts Sherry Walton, LaFrances Jones, Gloria Ferguson, Wilma Music; uncles Charles Ray Music, Lynn Music Sr.; and cousins
Andre Music and Joseph Oguntodu.

He leaves to cherish in his memories his father James Barnes; mother Sandra Barnes; brother Victor Music; sister Candace Music; niece Amberly Turner; nephews Charles Jefferson and Antoine Pennie; great nephew Khyron Hawthorne; uncles Michael Music, Wilmer Barnes and Johnny Ferguson; aunts Mary Music, Janice Hall, Ruth Barnes and a host of other relatives and friends.
