February 21, 1952 – April 4, 2025
Robert Charles McKinzie began his life on February 21st 1952 to the parentage of the late R.T. McKinzie and Daisy Shaw McKinzie in Palestine, TX. He was the 8th child born of nine from this union.
The family relocated to Plano, TX in 1960, where Robert attended Plano Independent Schools and graduated High School in 1968. Employment began for Robert at Capital Wire and Cable, with other jobs throughout his life; later retiring from Walmart. Robert married Paula V. Johnson on May 19th, 1979, to this union one son was born. Later in life, he married Linda Williams.
Robert's hobbies included fishing and hunting. An avid San Francisco 49er's Fan (Football), he was truly "The 49er Faithful"; and made it known he was not a Cowboy fan.
Robert is preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers, Maceo McKinzie, R.T. McKinzie, Jr,. and Layfayette McKinzie; one sister, Artie V. Powell; two sisters-in-law, Pearlie McKinzie and Samella McKinzie.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Carrenza McKinzie and Quincy Poole; stepson, Vincent Giles; six grandchildren, Sebastian, Nic, Kymmora, Haley, Adrianna and Makayla; and two great grandchildren.
He will be forever loved and remembered by: one sister, Carol Standberry; three brothers, David Paul (Bettye) McKinzie, William F. McKinzie, and Randy (Sadie) McKinzie; eight sisters in law, Rev. Rosemary McKinzie, Mary McKinzie, Brenda Johnson, Patricia Voss, Peggy Williams, Diane Johnson, Margo Washington, and Sonja Butler ; one brother-in-law, Melvin Powell; special friends, Rodney Stimpson and Trevor Hayes; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and many other friends.
The void left by Robert's absence is immeasurable, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will forever be remembered as a beacon of light, wisdom, resilience and love.
