Obituary

Rochester Harper was born on March 15, 1937, in Minden, Louisiana.
He is the son of Bishop and Bessie Ward Harper (both are deceased).
Chester attended the Louisiana Public Schools, graduating from Webster High School.
Rochester continued his education by receiving a Bachelor's Degree from Jarvis Christian College.
Mr. Harper retired from D.I.S.D as a teacher at R.L. Thornton Elementary School. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Rochester accepted Christ at an early age. Once he moved to Dallas, he united with the St. John Baptist Church.
He served as Sunday School until the Lord called him home. He served in the Prison Ministry and on the Usher Board, as well.
Mr. Harper leaves behind a daughter, Susan Jan Harper; one son, Kent Harper (Deceased), and one grandchild, Erin Fisher. He has one sister: Elouise Harper Grisby, and (2) brothers: Luvester Harper (deceased) and wife Roberta; and Roger Harper (Janice). He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
