Rodney Jerome Payne Sr. was born on April 20th, 1978 in
Muskogee, Oklahoma to the parents of Don and Edith Payne.
At a young age, Rodney and his siblings were introduced to the Lord and
became active members of United Pentecostal Church. In 1988, the family
relocated to Richardson, Texas where Rodney attended Elementary and
Junior High in Richardson ISD. In 1992, the family moved to Garland,
Texas where he attended South Garland High School and was a resident for
many years. Rodney was a dedicated employee at McAlister
'
s Deli in
Rowlett, Texas where he was loved and cherished by his co
-
workers and all
who came in contact with him.
Those who knew Rodney knew that he loved to talk
…
about God, his
dreams, aspirations, life and everything in between. He always had a
positive outlook on life no matter what hardships he may have faced or was
going through at the time.
"
God got me
"
and
"
Trust in the Lord
"
were his
favorite sayings and he believed that with all his heart. He definitely had an
infectious laugh (and we still don
'
t know what he was laughing about). He
was always the life of the party. However, what we do know is that RP was
going to talk about Jesus and have a sermon that was never ending.
RP he had a big heart and loved big when it came to his children. His life
revolved around all of them, and he loved them all equally.
On March 26, 2023, Rodney gained his wings. Leaving to cherish his
memories are his five children: (three daughters) Montaya Payne, Krislin
Payne and Aubriana Payne; (two sons) Rodney Jr. and Elijah Payne.
Rodney also leaves to cherish
…
A loving father Don Payne and a wonderful
