Obituary

Rodney DeWayne Johnson passed from his earthly life into
eternal life on September 11, 2024. Rodney was born on June
3, 1973 to the parentage of Samuell Thompson and Faye Irvine
Thompson.

Rodney accomplished many things in his short time on earth. He
graduated from ITT. He also completed studies in Small Engine
Repair. He was the family technician, accountant, problem
solver, human encyclopedia ... the 'go to" person. He was a great
husband, bonus dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Rodney was a natural born leader. His leadership was a guiding
force in the lives of many, providing strength and comfort to
those around him. He always had a smile that would light up the
room. Rodney loved football. He was an avid fan of the Dallas
Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.

Rodney is preceded in death by his mother, mother in love,
stepmom, both paternal and maternal grandparents, a great
nephew and a host of uncles and aunts.

Rodney leaves the following to mourn his transition from earth to
heaven: loving his wife, Tina Curry Thompson; two daughters in
love, Quenesha and Kimani; three grandchildren, Skylar, Tylar,
and Jamil; his devoted father, Samuell; beloved twin brother,
Ronnie; three sisters, Tina, Rhonda, and Samantha; nephew,
Donovan; three nieces, Donetra, Alexandria, and Jaldean; three
extended sisters, Shifon, Angela, and Myra; two extended
nephews, Marc and Timothy; two extended nieces, Maya and
Mia; and a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved
dearly.

Rodney will always be remembered as our all around "Teddy
Bear"... our Everything. He was loving, kind and selfless. He
made us laugh with joy and now our tears are filled with sadness,
but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories Rodney
gave us. Rodney will always be remembered, always be missed,
and forever be cherished. His spirit, his love, and his legacy will
forever shine in our hearts.

Rest in peace, our dear Rodney.
