IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rodney S
Tillmon
January 10, 1960 – January 20, 2024
Rodney Sebastian Tillmon was born on January 10, 1960 to the parentage of Roy Tillmon and Ruby Darline Wren.
Rodney accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Drake at Morning Star Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. He received his formal education in the Arlington Independent School District.
Rodney enjoyed playing football in his youth. He was always known for his stature and big heart. While attending high school, he received his cosmetology license. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1979.
Rodney worked various jobs and decided to enlist in the United States Army in 1982 where he was honorably discharged due to an injury. After serving our country, he got married. Rodney was gainfully employed with the United States Postal Service. He moved to East Texas because he loved the "simple life" in the country. Since then, he has been happily retired.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Ruby Thomas; his biological father, Roy Tillmon; brother, Broderick Wren; maternal grandmother, Dessie Wren; paternal grandfather, Cleveland Wren; paternal grandmother, Lenora Crawford; two nephews, Brandon Tillmon and Adrian Pennie.
Rodney leaves behind three loving sisters, Nina (Rickie), Pam and Yolanda; a devoted brother Mark (Cameron); four nieces, two nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews, a dear and special friend, Barbara Richard and a host of cousins and friends.
As we remember Rodney, our hearts are heavy with sorrow, but also filled with love. We remember not just a man who left us to soon, but a brother, uncle and friend who lived fully, loved deeply and left a trail of joy wherever he went. Rodney's memory is a treasure we will carry within us. He will live on in our hearts, our smiles and our love, always.
