Obituary

Shirley Green was born to the late Roland Green and Willie Mae (nee
Dunn) Green on April 28, 1954. She attended the Cisco Texas Public
School System, graduating in 1972 and continuing on to attend Cisco
Junior College.
After completing her schooling, Shirley worked for the Eastland School
System for several years, where she helped lead the pep squad and after
- school theater program. She then moved to the Dallas area in 1985 and
ultimately obtained employment at Solomon Schechter, later known as
Levine Academy, where she was employed for the past 36 years, and
met many of her special lifetime friends.
Shirley ' s faith in God was the cornerstone of her life and foundation for
everything. She was always helping others, sharing kind words and
encouraging people along the way. From her journey to Dallas, Texas
from the small town of Cisco, Texas to her adopting Sydney, she was
always bold in her faith. To her family she was known to be a brave,
funny, loving, kind and caring person who loved to spend time with her
loved ones.
Besides her darling daughter, crafts were her greatest joy. She could do
it all and she shared her talents with her friends and family. Shirley also
loved to celebrate the holidays, but all throughout the year, in her free
time you could find her in her craft room, where she enjoyed beading,
pottery, painting, and sewing.
Her smile and laugh were infectious, lighting up every room she en-
tered. She had the quality of a listening ear when needed, but she also
was a natural born problem - solver, who always had a plan for even the
smallest problem and shared her expertise freely.
Shirley leaves to carry on her legacy her daughter, Sydney D. Green
and her son, Randell King; grandchildren Jamien Kinchion, Makayla
King, and Kamryn King; her mother, Willie Mae (nee Dunn) Green;
her sisters, Linda Green and Jacquelyn E. (nee Green) Martin; nephews,
Marcus Green, Christopher Green, Josif (Gerdine) Martin, Jabari Mar-
tin, Gyasi Martin; nieces Eboni (Arthur) Martin - Dunkley, Lateefah
Martin, Iman Martin, and Sharifa Martin; great - nieces Caprice Hansom
and Aubrei Dunkley and great - nephew Justice Dunkley and a host of
other relatives and friends.
