IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sidney
Musgrove
December 9, 1944 – February 25, 2024
Brother Sidney Musgrove made his peaceful transition from this earthly
life to begin a life of eternal happiness and joy, resting peacefully with
our eternal Father and our precious loved ones who have gone before us
on February 25th, 2024. He passed away in Garland, Texas on at the age
of 79.
Sidney was born to the parentage of Andrew Musgrove and Geneva
Collins Musgrove on December 9th, 1944, in Soso, Mississippi. Growing
up in Soso, Mississippi, he developed the values of integrity,
perseverance, and compassion that would define his character.
He received his formal education at Rosenwald School (in Soso,
Mississippi) Shady Oak Grade School and Roosevelt High School in
Ellisville, Mississippi. He later attended Alcorn State University in
Lorman, Mississippi. He worked at Alcorn's movie/arts theatre of which
he was the cameraman. After moving to Texas, Sidney furthered his
education at Texas Institute of Technology majoring in Communications
Engineering.
Sidney met and married Annette Lee after graduating High School. They
were married in April of 1967 and to this union three children were born:
Sidney II, Lisa and Ramsey. During their 56 years of marriage, Sidney
was a family man who was an extraordinarily responsible and devoted
father and husband. He was extremely loving and kind towards his wife
and children. He always made sure they were well taken care of.
Sidney confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an
early age. As a young boy, he became a member of Mt. Pleasant
Missionary Baptist Church in Soso, Mississippi. Sidney and Annette
decided to move to Garland, Texas, and he moved his membership to
First Baptist Church at Hamilton Park. Later in life, he became a member
of New Mount Hebron Church in Garland, Texas.
Sidney was employed at Texas Instruments for over 30 years. He loved
his job and was proud of his accomplishments. He was a hands-on kind
of guy all his life who was dependable and caring, and was content in all
things. Sidney had a deep passion for the great outdoors. His love for
camping and all things related to nature was evident throughout his life.
Sidney fully embraced both the great joys and deep sorrows along his
life's journey, counting them all as part of God's perfect plan for his life.
Those who knew Sidney will remember him as a good man, a kind man
who loved God, his family and camping. The memories he leaves behind
will be a lasting treasure for generations to come.
