IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sollie
Randle
April 23, 1941 – February 16, 2020
Sollie was born on April 23, 1941, in Wortham, Texas to John and Jimmie Randle. His family moved to Dallas, Texas in 1946. Sollie graduated from Madison High School in 1959. He started his career at LTV. After leaving there he worked twelve years for Braniff Airlines at Dallas Love Field Airport. Sollie became a chauffeur for Universal Health until he retired.
In his retirement he hosted many family and friends in his home spreading joy by telling stories, watching sports, and serving great food. Sollie loved sports of all kinds. You could find him watching the usual, football, basketball and baseball. But he loved to celebrate Black athletes in golf, tennis and track & field. He would call you to make sure everyone else did too. However, his favorite past time was enjoying his love of music. Sollie owned a vast collection of Jazz, Soul, R&B and Gospel music.
In his quiet time, you would often find him reading his bible and watching televangelist.
Sollie was a historian. He prides himself on knowing the history of the Dallas Ft Worth area. If you were lost, you could call him, and he would give you directions and have you going ways you did not know existed. He was GPS before there was a GPS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jimmie Randle; brother, James Edward Randle; sister, Johnnie Mae Culberson; son, Kirk Jones.
Precious memories of Sollie will be cherished by his daughters, Sandra Board of Grand Prairie, Texas; Brenita Randle Walker (Derek) of Frisco, Texas; Dawn Jackson (Calvin) of Duncanville, Texas; Tarrance Jones of Grand Prairie, Texas; Andrea Anderson of Little Elm, Texas; son, Sollie Randle Jr. of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Julia Mickels of Dallas, Texas; Willie Rean Edwards of Dallas, Texas; JoAnn Parson (Weab) of Lancaster, Texas; brother, Garry Randle (Reginner) of Red Oak, Texas; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
