Sue Nell Wallace Woods-Townsel was born September 26th, 1945, in Panola County, Texas to parentage of the late Reverend Henry Wallace and Cozett Wallace. After a lengthy illness, she accepted the call to her Heavenly Home on April 15th, 2024. With her loved ones her bedside, she was delivered by God's angels into Jesus' arms.
Sue received her formal education in Carthage, Texas, where later moving to Dallas, Texas. She received her General Educational Development Diploma at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas.
Sue loved the Lord with all her heart. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Zion Baptist Church in Rowlett, Texas. After moving to Dallas, Texas, she became a member of True Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.J. Adams where she served faithfully in the choir. She later became a member of Lively Stone Church in Terrell, Texas under the leadership of Elder Cecil Osborne until her health began to fail.
Sue was united in holy matrimony to her first husband, Elbert Woods and to this union they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Gayla Woods Milton and Sharonda Woods – Kelleum.
Sue was united in holy matrimony to her second husband, Frank Townsel and to this union a beautiful baby girl was born, Kathrine Townsel-Allen and she was blessed with a beautiful stepdaughter, Rita Carr Trujillio.
Preceding her death was her husband, Frank Townsel; her oldest daughter, Gayla Milton; grandson, Raylon Kelleum; her father, Reverend Henry Wallace; her mother, Cozett Wallace; two sisters, Ruby Wallace and Charise Wallace; a brother, Henry Wallace, Jr.
Sue leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Shorond Kellum (Robert) of Kennedale, TX and Kathrine Allen (Carl) of Garland, TX; a special granddaughter (she raised) Keyonda Woods-Greer (Frank) of Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Wallace of Terrell, TX and Calvin Wallace of Fort Worth, TX; six sisters, Vera Jones of Maybank, TX, Rosia Cheatham of Cression, TX, Georgia Heard of Keller,TX, Savana Porter of Katy, TX, Ira Wallace of Keller, TX and Lavern Simmons of Katy, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
