IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theola Lettie
Jo Franklin
February 2, 1945 – May 11, 2019
Theola Lettie Jo Hill-Franklin was born on February 2, 1945, to the parentage of late Theodore Roosevelt Hill and Ola Vivian Carter Hill in Dallas, Texas. She was the fifth of eight children born to this union. She graduated from Booker T. Washington Technical High School in 1963.
Theola accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of the Reverend James McGlover.
Later on in life, she joined the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of Truth in Plano, Texas under the leadership of Chief JP Palmer. Theola remained a faithful, devoted member throughout her last days.
Theola was affectionately known as Gal, Aunt Gal, Aunt The and Sister Theola. She worked for Dr. Myles & Mrs. Pansy Welborn for over 30 years and helped raised their children (Todd, Tracy, & Tandy). Theola became an extended part of their family and continued working for their daughter Tandy (Vince) Jouret and looking after their children (Riley, Jake, & Ashten Vee). She had a special place in her heart for Tracey's son Brantley Todd Welborn.
After a 4 year battle with Colon/Stomach Cancer, Theola departed this life on May 11, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore & Ola, her sister, Laura Willis, and her brother James Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Michael Deleon Hill and Arthur James Franklin Jr. (Jessica). Her grandchildren, Terrance Bernard, and Kyndall Horace-Franklin and a bonus granddaughter Mariah Bernard. Her loving and adoring sisters Reva Bryant (Willie); Vera Anthony; Bernice Morgan; Zoe Terry (Ron) and Rebecca Loving. Aunt Gal wanted to acknowledge her "special nieces" Stephanie Morgan, Nosizwe Chimurenga, Diedra Willis, Betty Shelton, and Mary Shelton. Theola has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that loved her dearly and will miss her smile and her genuine outgoing personality.
