IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theresia
Smith
July 14, 1947 – February 13, 2026
Theresia Smith was born July 14, 1947, in Navasota, Texas to Kassie Bell Jenkins and James Willie Washington. She accepted Christ at a young age.
She went to school at George Washington Carver High School in Navasota, Texas where she played basketball as a teenager. Theresia married Charlie Smith and from that union four children were conceived: Shirley, Theresa, Terrance, and Priscilla. Later on, over the years, she had two other children, Betty and Deborah Smith.
Theresia was a bus driver for Navasota Independent School District. She moved from Nava-sota, Texas to Dallas, Texas in 1974. She attended Barber College and received her license.
Theresia loved her family. She was outgoing and very outspoken. She loved and cared about people deeply. Her love for the Lord blossomed throughout the years. Theresia fellowshipped at the House of Hope, under the leadership of Shirley Brice, where she was striving to live for the Lord.
Theresia was preceded in death by her parents, Willie James Washington and Kassie Bell Woolbright; her beloved son, Terrance Smith; her beloved granddaughter, Sparkle Watson-Jackson; and six siblings, Kassie, Willie James, Versia, Helen, Ida, and Sandra.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Shirley Curtis (Michael Curtis), Theresa Smtih, Priscilla Haggerty (Donald Haggerty), Betty Jo Smith (Ruben Medrano), and Deborah Smith; a brother, Robert Jenkins (Belinda Jenkins); and a host of grandchildren, great grand-children, and great-great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by special friends, Willie Foster and Virginia Hollis of over 50 years, and a multitude of loving nieces, nephews, cous-ins, friends, and other relatives who will forever treasure her memory.
Theresia Smith will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and legacy of love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Rest Well Momma.
